How One Piece will End

One Piece has been going strong for over 20 years as we have followed the Straw Hat Pirate crew search for “One Piece.” While the series shows no signs of ending anytime soon, several events have begun to set up the finally for One Piece. As the World Government’s Marines and Shichibukai, the Yonko (4 emperors of the sea), the revolutionary Army, and the Straw Hat Pirates and their allies all have begun to prepare for a final showdown near the end of the Grand Line. With this already in play there are only two ways that One Piece can end after the battle occurs between these four forces.

Ending One:

Prior to entering the final battle Luffy realizes he is sick and that he doesn’t have much longer to live. This is due to the effects of his Devil Fruit and the deal he made with Ivankov at Impel Down several years prior. In knowing this he decides to lead his crew into battle as a means to break through and get to the end of the Grand Line to find One Piece. As the battle intensifies Luffy realizes that his crew and allies might not make it out alive. Despite that, he immediately using his Haki to put a stop to the battle. He surrenders under the condition that his crew be disbanded, granted immunity, and that all sides retreat. The World Government agrees to his terms and he is taken into custody by Smoker, who is unaware that Luffy has very little life left. While Luffy is being held in prison it is decided that Luffy will be executed in Rouge Town in the same fashion that Gol D. Roger was, as a means to send a message that the golden age of pirates is over. On the day of his execution thousands of marines line the streets of Loguetown joined by several Shichibukai to ensure that it goes as plan. As Luffy is being led up to the gallows he smiles in front of the crowd as he is locked in to be executed. Prior to his execution Luffy states, “while the world is watching, I have left all my treasure in One Piece, thus in his death he reignites the golden age of Pirates as thousands of new Pirates set out to sail following his death in hopes of finding One Piece.” Years later a young adult says good bye to his mom, who looks like Boa Handcock, wearing a straw hat as he goes out to sea in a row boat to start his journey.

Ending two:

Luffy before entering the final battle, despite the deal he made with Ivankov and the wear and tear his Devil Fruit has on him, is healthy and is exhibiting no signs of sickness. Thus, he decides to lead his crew into battle with the hopes of using the 4 Yonkos and the Revolutionary Army as a distraction to break through to reach the final island to find “One Piece.” While breaking through they come into contact with several high ranked marines which forces crew members and allies to sacrifice themselves so that Luffy can go forward. As he starts to go forward to reach One Piece Luffy realizes that his crew and allies are struggling to keep the marines and Yonkos at bay and are on the verge of being captured. Luffy immediately disbands his crew and alliance and surrenders himself to the World Government in exchange for immunity for his crew and alliance. These terms are agreed to as Luffy is brought in. While sitting in Impel Down it is decided that Luffy will be executed at Loguetown in the same way that Gol D. Roger was as both a sign of respect to Luffy and to send a message to the world. On the day of his execution Luffy, smiling, is locked into the gallows as thousands of top ranked marines are stationed there in order to assure that it goes according to plan. One by one, in the way Luffy recruited his crew, they arrive and wipe out the marines and rescue Luffy and sets out to sail in a new ship similar to the Going Merry to continue their journey to find “One Piece”.
