The road to WrestleMania has officially kicked off with Triple H winning the WWE Heavyweight championship in the Royal Rumble. Triple H’s victory has not come without controversy as the match’s end result was changed. This change has set up a unique situation for Fastlane, as it was revealed on Monday Night Raw. The main event match for Fastlane is Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns Vs. Dean Ambrose, where the winner gets the opportunity to face Triple H at WrestleMania 32. At this event any one of the three could face Triple H at WrestleMania, as each superstar would bring about different consequences to the WWE Universe as they face the Game.

Brock Lesnar:

Brock Lesnar’s dominant performance in the Royal Rumble match has earned him an opportunity to become the #1 contender for Triple H’s title. Brock Lesnar’s main event in WrestleMania would have many consequences that would affect the WWE Universe. The first major consequence would be to table a feud with the Wyatt Family as his focus would be on Triple H. In tabling the feud Brock would not be hurt but the Wyatt family would be, as Brock is an equalizer to all four of them. The match between Brock and Triple H would allow Brock to become a neutral face and allow Triple H to remain a heel. This is what WWE wants, as they still have use for Triple H as a heel either as a wrestler or as an authority figure. This set up allows both Brock, who book can be purchase here, and Triple H to get over as Brock gets supported by the crowd and Triple H would be booed, which is what a heel is suppose to get from the crowd. As far as the match would go, both Lesnar and Triple H have a power and heavy move style of wrestling and it would be more like a fight rather than a wrestling match. It will play-out as a fight, which will garner crowd support and make for an excellent main event. Who ever wins the match, if it takes place, will have legitimized the WWE Heavyweight Title.

Roman Reigns:

Roman Reigns coming off the Royal Rumble has to be having one of the best years as a performer with one of the hardest characters to pull off currently in wrestling. Much like Brock Lesnar winning the triple threat at Fastlane, Roman would have massive consequences on the WWE Universe. One of the consequences of Roman being in the main event at WrestleMania would result in disastrous match. This is due to Roman Reigns being booed during the Royal Rumble and on recent Monday Night Raw. Most likely at WrestleMania, if he was to face Triple H, Roman would be booed and Triple H would be cheered, which is exactly what WWE does not want. Outside of the crowds reaction to Roman Reigns he lacks the promo skills to build up a possible match between him and Triple H that would sell WrestleMania. Thus he is not helping to push the show forward. This situation puts Roman in a tough position, as he is the worst candidate to be headlining WrestleMania with his lack the crowds. In the main event of WrestleMania Roman Reigns would generate backlash for the company and negatively affect the WWE product.

Dean Ambrose:

Dean Ambrose might be WWE’s WrestleMania savior. For over 6 months now Dean has been slowly gaining and maintaining crowd support as he participates in a variety of matches whether he wins or loses. Just recently Dean Ambrose was given a major push as he is in his first reign as an Intercontinental Champion and has successfully defended that championship. Furthermore, at the Royal Rumble he was in a last man standing match that went over with the crowd. This match was only topped by his performance in the Royal Rumble, as he was the last one to be eliminated thus allowing him to have earned his spot into the Fastlane triple threat match. Dean Ambrose is the perfect choice to main event WrestleMania as he is currently not involved in any major feuds and has charisma that gets the crowd behind him. This appeal makes Dean Ambrose a face that everybody could get behind. The only consequence that Dean Ambrose would be subjected to would be dropping the Intercontinental title to another wrestler in order to gain the WWE Heavyweight Championship.

Anything could happen at WWE Fastlane in the triple threat match to determine who faces Triple H. Yet one thing is certain, all three of these superstars can handle being in the main event at WrestleMania. Only time will determine who will earn the right to face Triple H on the grandest stage of them all.
